The words "lightweight" and "trekking" don't normally go together but Salewa's new Puez Knit PTX Hiking Shoe is lighter and more cushioned than traditional Alpine trekking shoes. Made for mountainous terrain the Puez features abrasion-resistant uppers proprietary PowerTex waterproofing and a thermoplastic plate that balances stability with flex for both tough trails and fast hikers. This shoe is also part of Salewa's new Progressive Trekking collection—that means the Puez Knit incorporates natural and recycled materials such as Salewa's unique Alpine Hemp midsoles which mix natural hemp with synthetic fibers made from recycled Salewa apparel for comfortable cushioning that's more eco-friendly than traditional EVA foam.
