After a visit to Paris' National Museum of African and Oceanic Arts in 1976, Mr Louboutin spotted a sign that forbade women from wearing heels, claiming they damaged the building's wooden flooring. From that moment, he endeavoured to manifest footwear that would break the rules and - most importantly - empower. Please note, Christian Louboutin's signature lacquered soles will wear out with use; this is normal wear and tear and is not considered to be a manufacturing defect.
